A bit about me.

D.D. Heathen has been writing since grade school and riding horses for even longer. She grew up immersed in English riding - dressage, jumpers, and pleasure - before boarding her first horse at a reining barn, where she explored reining and western pleasure. These early experiences with horses have stayed with her, shaping not only her life but also the heart of her storytelling.

D.D. doesn’t limit herself to any one genre. Instead, she focuses on human connection, letting each story’s world - whether contemporary romance, fantasy, or sci-fi - grow naturally from the relationships at its center. Her current work is focused on queer contemporary romance, with The South Fork Stories, a standalone series, and the first book, What Remains Unsaid, slated for release in 2027.

When she’s not writing, D.D. can be found exploring the world through her camera lens, attempting to rollerblade, crafting chainmaille, or spending time with her husband and their dogs along the coast of North Carolina. She invites readers to follow her on Patreon, where she shares behind-the-scenes content and the lore of her writing, giving a deeper glimpse into her creative world.
